Novice/Beginner Hammered Dulcimer

1. Easy Back-Up: Learn to play basic back-up chords on the Hammered Dulcimer . This method is easy to remember and can be used for warm ups, arranging, playing while singing, playing with other lead instruments, etc.

2. Gospel Tunes: Get a “Gospel feel” while learning some of my easy gospel tune arrangements. Back-up chord part and harmony for each tune is covered as well.

Intermediate Hammered Dulcimer

1. Easy Improvisation: This workshop gives you a “goof-proof” way to improvise on some of your favorite tunes . It also is a useful back-up technique.

2. Gospel Tune Favorites: Some of my favorite gospel tunes with harmonies and back-up parts. Great for those outdoor services. Keep the congregation awake!

3. European Tunes: Learn a few of my arrangements for great European tunes with harmonies and back-up parts. Great for Clubs and playing duets with your HD (or other instrument) buddy.

4. Christmas Tunes: Great Christmas tunes that I’ve arranged for HD. Learn back-up parts and harmonies for all these fun tunes. Great for getting some of those Christmas gigs.

5. Island Rhythms: A few Caribbean and Calypso tunes that I’ve arranged. I also have some Island/Calypso back-up rhythms to add to the tune or play as you sing the tunes.

Pennywhistle (“D” whistle needed for workshops - I’ll have some available in a varied price range)

1. Beginning pennywhistle:
Learn to play the easiest instrument to carry around. I’ll have you playing a tune quickly. We’ll also work on playing in different keys. I use a D whistle.

2. Irish Duets: I have some favorite Irish tunes arranged for duets. Novice to advanced players welcome.

Steel Drum - (‘Jumbie Jam’ authentic steel drum used for these workshops)

1. Beginning Steel Drum: I use a “Jumbie Jam” steel drum for this. It’s a “real” steel drum in the key of G . It plays in G and D very easily. I show you how to get that “Caribbean” sound for your club or group.

2. Intermediate steel drum: I’ve got some Christmas, Island, Old Time, Gospel, Folk tunes arranged for the steel drum. I’ve added some cool back-up chord parts as well, to add that Caribbean back-up sound when you play with other instruments.
